I have Adult ADHD. I know this because I took an online test. And just like that one online test told me my soul color is green, this one gave me hard, factual numbers on this “condition” I can now officially “own”. I scored a 95 on a scale of “0 & up”. I will give the top number a “cap” of 100, just because I need boundaries… and people with ADHD need boundaries. Here’s the scale given on the site:
0-24: No ADHD Likely25-34: Borderline ADHD35-49: Mild ADHD50-69: Moderate ADHD70 & up… Adult ADHD
I scored a 95… Yup. That’d plunk me comfortably in that “Adult ADHD” category. I even tried to “soften” my answers because I am told I tend to be too hard on myself. Knowing who they are dealing with, the site gave a fun-looking graphic, so as to keep my attention… I think the badge could have used a little Flash animation…
But I digress… but that’s because I have Adult ADHD, so cut me some slack, would ya?
Is someone cooking waffles? I digress…
The results of my test came with this warning:
It is highly likely that you are presently suffering from adult attention deficit disorder, according to your responses on this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional immediately.
Cool. It would be beneficial for me to seek a trained MENTAL HEALTH professional! Maybe they’ll gimme one of those really awesome white jackets with the arms that tie around one’s back. You can’t get those at Target. Believe me. I’ve looked around.
And as I talked with mah friend Jen on the phone yesterday afternoon, it all came full-circle. I told her about my recent test. I told her I tried to not to be “alarmist” when I took that little online test. I TRIED to be conservative in the assessments I made of myself…
I told her about the few questions regarding “chatter in your head”… and that’s when I was all, “Oh my gosh! My head is ALWAYS FULL of chatter! ALWAYS! It NEVER stops! Nevernevernever…!”
…and if a tree fell in the forest and no one was around to hear it… I digress…
At that point, I had one of those “lightbulb moments”. I blurted to Jen, “…and that is partly why I drink! It helps stop the chatter in my head so I can go to sleep!” Me (being the reflective person I am) thought I had stumbled onto something deep and insightful about myself. I poured my soul out to mah friend Jen, and, and…. Her compassionate reply,
“I….. *gasp…hahahahahaaaaa* know you weren’t….. *gufahsnortsnortsnort* trying to be funny but…. *hahahahahahahahsnortsnortsnort*….”
That’s cool, Jen. Especially after that whole event when we were kids and you rode your bike into that parked car and I laughed as your writhed and bled in the street… We’re cool…
Ooooooh! Look! Shiny!

Keep up-to-date on the insane, the insightful, and the whatever…

I can always count on you to keep me amused, Kerry. This one totally made me laugh out loud this morning! :)
So I just took the test and guess what?! I scored a 63!!!
Here is their response:
You appear to be suffering from a moderate amount of attention and concentration difficulties according to your responses to this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional soon to rule out a possible attention disorder.
You know I always had a problem with scoring high on tests. They make me nervous :s
I scored a 22, so I guess I’m ADHD free! Good to know!
Well I’m either a cool cucumber or totally boring, I scored a 15. Kerry, you crack me up girlfriend! How’s the Dance Party faring in the polls today?
I scored with ya! Well not ’scored w/ ya’- I mean I also scored a 95! Oh yeah, I’m AADHD. Tru dat!
I love these tests, they take up far too much of my time-perhaps I can add obsessive to my list of disorders, lol.
I gotta go take that test, oh dang, what’s burning, oh shoot, I forgot I turned the stove on to start chicken…
be right back
62-Moderate ADHD. Not surprising considering I already knew I have ADD and BOTH of my sisters have ADHD!!! One of them hast it REALLY bad and combined with other behavioral problems…
I only scored a 25. Not a big deal I guess.
Now if they had a test of OCD…I might just go through the roof on that one!
If you end up going to a shrink, let me know what he says. I’ll try not to laugh.
You didn’t need a stinkin’ test to tell you that! I could have told you. ;) I jest! Love ya!
Now I’m off to take it…
I scored a 28. I’m borderline. Feels like I’m going to lose my mind. You just keep on pushing my love over the borderlinnnnneeee…
I got a 21 - I’m ADHD free AND I have blackjack!! Now I know for sure that Navy Son didn’t get it from ME. He is the ADHD Poster Boy - fortunately we had him diagnosed at an early age (7) and were able to treat it throughout his schooling years without going too crazy in the process. Now he’s on his own - and able to handle it OK, I reckon!
But yes, Chuck Norris IS cool. A Klondike bar would do anything for Chuck Norris.
Hand to God, I am still laughing about it. That was the funniest damn thing I have ever heard.
Check to see if that site is sponsored by the pharmeceutical companies that make the ADHD medicine. I’m just saying…
This got an incredible response! I also took that quiz, and just passed with no ADHD. 24
Whew. Some days though……
:)
My mom has ADHD. My brother has it too. Whatdoya think my chances are?! Off to take the test . . .
